Efficient system to enable storage of high temperature solar heat energy
The objective of the project is the development of a thermo-chemical heat storage technology suitable of storing heat at temperatures between 100-200 °C to increase the energy efficiency in industrial processes, in particular in the food industry. The application of solar thermal systems like Fresnel collectors should be facilitated by this as well. The basic principle used for heat storage is a reversible, exothermal reaction of two fluids. Within the project different reaction pairs and system configurations will be investigated and evaluated.
