Hall A1, Booth 526

analytica in Munich is the International Trade Fair for Laboratory Technology, Analysis and Biotechnology. Its unique exhibition profile unites all topics that pertain to modern analysis in research and industry.

At the joint Fraunhofer booth in Hall A1, booth 526, Fraunhofer IGB will present a newly developed real-time process mass spectrometer analyzing 30 substances simultaneously from the liquid and gas phase. Another focus of our exhibition is the development of methods for quality control, food and environmental analysis including water analysis.

Process analysis with real-time mass spectrometer foxySPEC

Thanks to a special patented intake system, the newly developed real-time mass spectrometer is able to detect up to 30 components simultaneously from the gas phase and a liquid – directly during the production process and with a sensitivity in the lower ppm range. The sensitive measurement system is therefore suitable for the automated monitoring and control of chemical reactions and biotechnological processes in food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries. foxySPEC will be available in August 2017.

Our offer

  • Development of individual solutions for real-time, gas and liquid analysis
  • Connection of mass spectrometers to process contol systems
  • Automatic calibration and fully automated analysis
  • Tuning and remote maintenance via self-developed "Connectbox"

Development of methods for quality control, food and environmental analysis

As part of research and development services, Fraunhofer IGB offers a broad spectrum of analyses. One focus is the development of analytical methods when standardized methods do not exist. For the determination of individual nano-titanium dioxide particles in complex media, such as in cosmetics or wastewater, a mass spectrometric measurement method using inductively coupled plasma (SP-ICP-MS) was developed. Within a study of private households' water quality in Germany, Fraunhofer IGB analyzes the water samples. The chemical-physical WaterCheck has now been complemented by bacteriological examinations of the water samples.

Our topics

  • Quality control
  • Food analysis
  • Trace, residue, and environmental analysis
  • Water analysis
  • Determination of nanoparticles in complex media
  • Environmental Impact Assessment of building materials
