Trade fairs and events | Retrospect 2022

IFAT is the world's leading trade fair for technologies for the treatment and recycling of wastewater and waste. Here, Fraunhofer IGB presents the methods developed at the institute for water purification and treatment with oxidation processes.

This year we are represented twice at the ACHEMA. We will present the process engineering development and scaling of biotechnological processes for the production of biobased basic, fine and platform chemicals as well as the production of enzymes at the booth of our partner Enzymicals AG in Hall 4.1, Booth L50. In addition, we will present at the joint booth of the Fraunhofer Chemistry Alliance founded in 2021 (Hall 6.0, booth A52) with exhibits on "From CO2 to green polymers" by combining electrochemistry and biotechnology as well as on the scaling of new processes for the bioeconomy at Fraunhofer CBP in Leuna.

The Expo for Decarbonized Industries > ENERGY STORAGE (decarbXpo) bundles the most comprehensive range of energy storage systems, solutions for decarbonization in industry and commerce, and a high-quality forum and conference program into one event. At the newly set-up trade fair, we will present ourselves at the joint Fraunhofer booth (hall 9, booth 9E22) of the Fraunhofer Energy Alliance and show our range of services in the field of chemical energy storage and CO2 conversion to synthetic fuels and chemicals (Power-to-X-to-Y process cascades).

As part of the 4th Bioeconomy Congress Baden-Württemberg, we will open our doors together with the University of Stuttgart on September 27, 2022 in the afternoon. Get to know two biorefineries e.g. the insect biorefinery InBiRa as well as different bioeconomy networks in the excursion "Urban and industrial biorefineries" and gain practical insights into the recovery of valuable raw materials from waste and residual material streams.

At the Fraunhofer joint booth, Fraunhofer IGB will showcase technologies and processes around functionalization of polymers in roll-to-roll processes and bioinspired technologies for the production of biobased polymers for a circular bioeconomy. We are looking forward to your visit in hall 7.0, booth SC01.

Fraunhofer IGB will be represented within the Fraunhofer Competence Field Additive Manufacturing with its expertise in functional biogenic materials.

Get experiences in the knowledge of new technologies and the processing of alternative proteins. This may help to step into new workplaces.

The aim of this online professional development course is to provide introductory training and theory in algal biology, culturing, growth and biotechnology under laboratory and small scale pilot facilities. The workshop will run for three days hosted virtually by the University of Cambridge Algal Innovation Centre (AIC) (UK), Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS), Fraunhofer Institute for Interfacial Engineering and Biotechnology IGB (Germany) and Matis (Iceland).
