Hahn, Thomas Dr.-Ing.

Dr. Thomas Hahn studied chemistry and subsequently obtained his PhD on extraction and purification of heteropolysaccharides from brown algae at the Institute of Bioprocess Engineering at the University of Kaiserslautern. In 2012 he started as a research scientist at Fraunhofer IGB. Since 2016 he is the deputy head of the working group “Bioprocess Development”.

The research topics of Thomas include natural polymers in general; in particular purification, modification and analysis. He works with several companies and research institutes, aiming to foster the application of renewable resources in textile processing.
