The first place in the Ferchau Innovation Prize 2009 went to a research group led by Professor Walter Trösch of Fraunhofer IGB. He has developed a cost-effective reactor platform that enables CO₂ from flue gas plants to be put to good use by microalgae. The award was made at the Hanover Trade Fair under the motto “Technology for the environment.”
